When Martha Longmire first saw Paradise Valley, she exclaimed, "It looks just like paradise!" The alpine meadows around Paradise are covered with wildflowers, especially at the end of the summer. Paradise sits more than a mile above sea level and averages 620 inches of snowfall annually. The world's record for annual snowfall was recorded here in the winter of 1971-1972: 1,122 inches!

We went up to Paradise and had lunch before looking around at the meadows and the wonderful view of the mountain.  We made a stop at the Henry M. Jackson Memorial Visitors Center before leaving the park.  After leaving the Visitors Center, we stopped at a scenic view and took a couple more pictures of Mt. Rainier.
